Hunger and poor nutrition undermine a child’s ability to learn and grow. The Healthy School Meals initiative by Zero Point Upadhye Foundation focuses on ensuring that children in and around Mahishawadagi, Tq. Athani, District Belagavi, receive consistent, nutritious meals at school and community learning centers. Donations support the procurement of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, safe cooking equipment, clean water and storage, basic kitchen utensils, and training for cooks and volunteers. Funds also help produce simple nutrition education materials for children and caregivers and enable modest transport and logistics to deliver meals reliably.
This cause is designed to be flexible and responsive to local needs: contributions can be directed toward daily meal preparation, establishing or improving small community kitchens, or creating nutrition-awareness sessions for parents and teachers. We prioritise locally appropriate menus that respect dietary preferences while aiming for a balanced mix of proteins, grains, fruits and vegetables.
How you can help:
- Make a one-time donation to cover meal ingredients or kitchen supplies.
- Support recurring contributions to sustain meal preparation.
- Sponsor kitchen setup, safe storage, or cook training activities.
